Exclamation MPVI3 kind-of working, JTEC vehicle support? 97 Jeep XJ Cherokee 4.0

Not sure what it is with HPT and JTEC.... a while back the MPVI2 got issues after an update... I was in the market for a tuner than so I waited for their engineers to work through that. Then the MPVI3, and its well known JTEC compatibility issues.

Then, one day, proof that God is real arrived.

The angels sang, Jesus danced on the water, and storms chilled out for a minute. Even Team D and Team R in DC chilled out and enjoyed cheap beer together and the annoying dog in Duck Hunt (old school NES) finally stopped harassing bad ray gun duck hunters.

I get my own MPVI3. I set it up, VCM 5.0.4. Plugged into the trusty Windoze 10 lappy, I head out to the Jeep. Per the helpful instructions...
https://www.hptuners.com/product_destructions I connect this bad boy to my unsuspecting test subject, my personal 250k mile, rust free from drier lands down south, freshly tuned up Jeep XJ Cherokee. I can read and clear codes in the scanner portion... no realtime data.

Checking into the tuner side, hoping to get the stock tune saved to my computer before I drop the big money on tokens, I get a message...

Should I have gone with a SCT for tuning JTEC (Jeep/Mopar) vehicles? HPT has a great reputation in the GM camp, figured they'd be at least pretty decent in tuning other makes. It looks like some have figured it out, hopefully I had a brainfart and passed out, to wake up to things working smooth as butter. Help is appreciated.

It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
