VCM Editor Fails to Read Vehicle

Car is a 2017 CTS-V. Fully stock with stock tune. I am attempting to read the vehicle so I have a file of the stock tune and it's failing to read the car. I have 8 credits available. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

I am in the same boat with my 2013 Jeep. I just purchase my MPVI2 and hooked it up the first time to read the file. It failed to read just like yours but I also got "Controller unlocker: x35 invalid key" code. I didnt mean to highjack your thread but maybe someone can help both of us.

    Thanks,
The message is pretty much self explanatory. Wait 15 minutes try again.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

    Bill,
Is this something internet/connection related since it says "web service" in the reason? A function (controller unlocker) being requested via the internet connection?
Thanks for the response, just want to make sure something isn't wrong on my end.
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Absolutely, you need an internet connection to read these vehicles.

Thanks Bill. I was connected to the internet when I was trying to read the vehicle. I will try again later and see what happens.

replace the ecm with one that hasn't been tunerlocked.

During the unlock step of a read or write of a GM controller, we may see an "x35 Invalid Key" error followed by an "x36 Exceeded Number of Attempts" error. When we see these errors on a GM vehicle the module in question is tunerlocked and will not be read or write-able.
