    E40 fan logic

decided to log my fans on/off in my '05 gto. I was under the impression that once over ~24mph, the fans shut off. Mine show on even at 70mph. I have the factory thermo in it, but fans are set to start at 174@25%, tapered up from there. This car seems to always show warmer than what it is. It shows from 194 to 203 all the time. More interested in the showing running while cruising at highway speeds.

Read the whole thread, but the 9th post by Chris explains A LOT.

i've read that. I was just wondering why they show running, when your cruising at 70mph. I had read where the are supposed to shut off at highway speeds, unless it's running real hot. I do have the 2bar os setup. I may set it to 0 up to 192 and see if the fans will shutoff at highway speeds. I still have the factory thermostat (187).
