    2003 5.3L Vortec showing as V6

Greetings everyone. I got my HP tuner quiet some time ago and, so far, used it to read information than making changes. I own a 2003 Chevy 1500 (5.3L Vortec)and a 2006 Corvette (6.0L LS2). One thing I been trying to understand is that my 5.3L Vortec shows up as a V6 in HPtuners. Is this due to the factory immobilizer or something else I'm missing?

thank in advance for the thoughts..

    -Mike

    Slow down, read it closer.

If you look at the calibration details it says P59 GM GEN3 V8, 4.3L V6. The comma means that controller supports both the V8 and V6 trucks.

The tune overview will show you your VIN number, the vehicle and what engine it has. The first page in the Engine tab will also say what engine this calibration is for because the engine type will say 5.3 on a stock file.

2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

your just reading it too fast. I know when I flash those it says v6 but also says v8 as these pcms must be capable of doing both v6s and v8s
