If your 2008 camshaft isn't damaged you can just toss that in the 2011 engine with your 2008 timing cover. Then it would be like nothing changed. It would remove the VVT phaser and VVT specific timing cover.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    Yes and no.

The camshaft it self will fit but it will not work without buying more parts. The LS1 camshaft is a 3 bolt cam, your AFM/DoD camshaft is a single bolt camshaft. You would need to purchase a 4x 3 bolt cam gear, then you would need to purchase 16 new lifters to remove the AFM lifters, new lifter trays, new head gaskets, new head bolts. Also a new valley plate to remove the AFM/DoD solenoids, then block the holes going to them.

They sell AFM/DoD delete kits through compaines like Texas speed, Brian Tooley Racing and many others.

If you wish to keep the AFM/DoD stuff you can buy a new camshaft from the dealership for far less than the whole delete kit stuff. But if you need new lifters and all that stuff it will get kinda pricey because AFM/DoD lifters aren't super cheap.

The new 2008 camshaft is the fastest and easiest option if you are going to swap enignes. All you need is the new cam, new cam bolt and a few gaskets to make the 2011 engine like the 2008 engine.
