    ECU Replacement Question

I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 (E38 ECU) that I am having the dealer replace the ECU on with a good used unit. I already have licensed the current ECU. After the replacement/programming, will I have to re-license the ECU again? The tech said the OS will be the same as the one that is presently on the truck, and of course the VIN will be as well.

    Thank You!

Yes, it will need to be licensed again. The serial number will be different. Hopefully you can do it without buying more credits.

    It'll cost him.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.
