2007 GT500 returnless fuel pump circuit capability

Why do most people convert to return systems in higher horsepower applications? Are the FPDM's amperage limited? If so what is the limit? Greg Banish says the fuel pump voltage table is only used for start up and the ECM learns the appropriate values. If one was to upgrade FPDM wiring to carry additional load will they function with larger fuel pumps?

I would say so. I have tuned my voltage table myself, that way I know the ecu is putting voltage to the fpdm as it should to start with. I have 21v bap's on mine, stock fuel pumps, so far so good, making 960rwhp, so stock system is good for that much at least. When I need more, I'm gonna try larger pumps & see. I may need to run separate power wires to the fpdm's, to keep them fed, but it should work I would think. I like that the ecu varies power to the pumps so they're not running wot all the time, compared to a return style setup.
