Trying to learn new cam tune

Just installed 270, phase limiter, ported heads, 1511 springs, 6.4 intake and long tubes and I cant seem to find the right combination to keep it running right. If any one can help shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Current tune and idle attached.

After looking your tune over, and comparing it to my baseline driving tune (my setup Comp 270, PSI 1515 springs, port Heads, 6.1 intake Hellcat injectors and much more), I can tell that your tune is way off. Most of the important parameters needed to make a 270 work are still left with stock values in your tune. There are way to many places that need to be adjusted in your tune to assist. I recommend you download a tune that has a 270 or 274 from the repository and do a compare to your current tune. This should help get you in the right direction. Let us know how you make out once you look at something similar to what you have, and try to make the changes. Good luck.

Couldn't agree more. This is my first tune with an aftermarket cam and i am trying to figure out what parameters i need to look into. I looked all over for a 270 or even a 274 tune in the repository but could not find anything.

Only thing you will find in the repository is a 2010 5.7 with a 6.4 cam or a 2016 Dodge Ram 5.7 with 209/222 duration .594/.584 110 lsa.

I bought the tuning school beginners tuning class for non-hellcat dodges (they use a 2015 charger 5.7 as an example) and it walks you through some of the changes required for a cammed engine.

Are you throwing any CEL's? Not passing 3k sounds like timing is off.

Copy these values in the engine diagnostic tab. Should make your 3k limit go away

Ok here is where i am currently. I have a tuner helping me but i want other input. This is the 3rd revision i have been given and yet its still running very lean, if i touch the throttle it dies, if i put in gear it dies. Its been two weeks and this is still not drive-able. Growing frustrated by the day. Anyone wanna help it would be greatly appreciated.

Your idle timing should be around 14 degrees with that cam. I usually set my Minimum spark to 14 degress in the first 3 columns. Max your torque delta and torque delta tables out in the engine diagnostics tab. You also still need to max the values out in P2174 and P2172 to 250kpa, max P2173 to 238lh/h and P2175 to -238lb/h which is also in the diag tab. Report back after you try this

Adjusted everything but the RPMs consistently raise and drop from 800 rpms to 2300 rpms with the timing set to 14 degrees. Did adjust everything else and runs good. I was trying to set the idle to 650 rpms but she refuses to drop below 750. All is good for now.
