    7000rpm rev limit 1st gear?

Ok, so I am new to this stuff, but last night I raised my rev limiter to 7000rpms. In first gear it is only hitting 6800rpms. In 2nd gear it goes all the way to 7k, what am I doin wrong? Thanks for the help.

what car? motor?.....i have mine set 7000k in my sunfire but i only have it at that so i dont go bouncing off any rev limiters when racing. except 3rd gear i take it all the way to 7k bc i'll be at the end of the 1/4 mile by then and i dont want to shift into 4th. i have a n/a motor i see no reason to be shifting at 7k when racing bc i have stock cams in there, would be different if i had a larger, more aggressive set of cams. it should be the ramp out spark table u have to set it to the max(65535). thats assuming ur driving a j-body.
