I don’t know that they really have a lot of control over that.

17 worked fine I did 2 days ago.. usually takes less then 15 min for me..

When I get the “convert seed” error.. I turn off power to car. Key back on and try to read and everytune it has worked on that attempt

I thought once you knew the key, you wouldn't need it again and wouldn't have to be connected to the internet to reflash the 2nd time around on 2017+? Also is HP tuners just brute forcing to figure out the key? If they are, wouldn't there be some sort of block that would lock it out after a certain number of incorrect guesses? Like an iPhone locks you out after the 10th wrong try or whatever? Or is HPT somehow using a subscription to TIS web to get some sort of info then sending it back to the user? If that's the case wouldn't GM notice this and put a stop to it? Potentially leaving someone stuck not being able to flash a tune or recover?

I don't know how they do it but you only need to unlock them once via internet. I have done lots and lots of tuning on 17 and 18 models out in the desert, far from internet.
