    6l90e broken intermediate shaft!

2010 camaro, 600hp with centri, 3400 PAS yank stall, 3.91 gear, 6l90 swap with extra clutches. This is my second factory intermediate shaft I have broken within a week of each other. Between 3-4 shift it breaks. What usually causes this? I am following tuning school trans book, with added oncoming presets 0=300 1=500 2=800, car shifts great 1-2 and 2-3 but 3-4 is quick but seems smooth under light throttle? Do i need to change my volume presets or something, do I need to just buy a billet shaft or go back factory?

I would do a billet shaft at this point but it really shouldn't break so easily. Does the tuning school still turn off the torque management ? If you did that then put TM back in the tune.

No idea where you are seeing that. In my world its a pretty rare occurrence.

    Keep TM.
Turn your oncoming pressure and base pressure down. I have 1000whp stock 80/90 cars not breaking the shaft, i've seen 500-600whp cars break the shaft because people turn TM completely off and add a ton of pressure that isn't needed.

    Looked at your tune
    - You only have 29% TM
    - Base pressure its kindof high
    - Your oncoming pressure is through the fucken roof, so i can see why it broke. its at 150psi oncoming, On wot, normally i'll have the 3-4 at 94-110psi MAX WITH about 60-80% TM still in the trans.

We build around 20-30 a month and see a broken one once every few months if that. Typically its twisted off clean and almost always on the 6l90e never the 80s and finding its on stuff thats towing a lot of weight. I have never had one come in from a car trans and be broken. Most customers that we got info from also said it happened on down shifts and not up when have a trailer behind it. Seen many very high hp cars with stock shafts never break so this is something in the tune that is causing the abuse most likely. A shift can be fast and still not slam and that is what your after.
