Security Light Constantly On

Kind of a strange issue. 2000 Silverado 5.3

Truck was running fine no issues and I went in and did the Passlock Delete (Set to NONE and then performed a write) because like all Passlock systems it will eventually fail (also doing a remote start soon). Truck still runs no problem. The issue is after I did that the security light on the dash comes on and doesn't go back out (it was NOT on before I disabled passlock) From what I can tell the BCM controls the security light not the PCM. Anybody know how to get this freaking light to turn back off?

For anyone else that runs into this issue:

Go to System. Under security find VATS and set to "None"
Go to Engine Diagnostics. Go to DTCs. Go down to around 1629 and disable anything that starts with the word "theft". Uncheck SES if it is checked, and change to NO ERROR REPORTED on ALL theft codes.
Perform a WRITE ENTIRE. Write Calibration does NOT write all of the changes and will leave your security light on.

Thanks for the info have to delete the passlock on a 2004 because the system failed and waiting for the box to come in this will save me some time!!!

It has been discussed countless times. WRITE ENTIRE when performing vats changes.

Hello. I tried to get rid of the security light on a 2000 tahoe 5.3. Disabled VATS and unchecked all the theft DTCs. Did write entire. Still the light is on, but it runs ok. Any advice how to get rid of that light?

I've been able to fix this by doing a security relearn. Leave the key forward. 10 minutes light goes out.. Turn key off turn key back on but again don't start. 10 minutes lgiht goes off, after the 3rd time it should work.

Heads up though.. someone above mentioned removing codes for security will take off that light also.
