Hey guys. Ive done some searching but havnt come up with the answer to this, in language I can understand anyway.

I have been tuning my truck with the maf faulted, and open loop. Its now gotten to the point (particularly at cold start), that my changes are flip flopping. Meaning, that my idle settings are far too rich during cold start if they are nailed down for warm/operating temperature, and vise versa.

Ive started to look for ECT modifiers but I am confused by some of the labeling. I have done google searches and a lot of people suggest that the ve table is only for warm engines and that the maf/closed loop makes up for the cold start. Is there not a way to get all the temperature ranges close while staying in open loop/speed density?

The final product of the tune will definitely be closed loop as its a street car.

From my past experiences tuning aftermarket ecu' s, I was able to get the fuel trims within 5% in open loop.

Thanks.
