    01 5.3 Flex Fuel

Can I use a computer that wasn't flex fuel from the factory to run a combination of gas and E85? Or would I need to get a Flex Fuel Factory computer?

    Thanks

You need an operating system that can run flex fuel, otherwise you will never have fueling correct.

As far as I know you need a 2002 Tahoe OS with flex fuel, then wire/plump a sensor in.

So can I just load a 2002 Tahoe OS with flex fuel onto my computer, or do I need to get a factory computer with flex fuel? Sorry I'm still new to this and will have my wiring done in a couple weeks

Finding a computer or knowing someone with a GM scan tool to load a flex fuel OS could be the cheapest option.

You can flash the flex fuel OS into your computer but it's going to cost you several credits. Because you have to have to license the original file, then license the FF file, write entire that into the computer and then it may ask for another license because you just created a new OS on the computer.

You can look in the tune repository to find that tahoe OS and look it over.
