    Invalid cable id

I tried to scan a vehicle and go a Invalid Cable ID warning

    It said this

    "Invalid Cable ID

You do not have license support for this interface. Make sure you have the correct Application Key entered for this interface ID

You can also find the interface ID on the back of the device.

If you've lost your application key it can be retrieved via customer login"

What in the world does this mean. I've only used one scanner on the same laptop. Also, it's a scan not a tune upload, why do I need an application key?

Typically it means you have the wrong application key inserted into the software and to update the app key. This is the answer about 99% of the time.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I checked the application key and it was erased. I never knew that could happen. Any explanation why that would happen. Also, why does it affect the scanner?

pc issue would be the most common reason, I've personally never had one erased on any pc I've ever had. It affects the scanner because the software/hardware need to work together to both scan & use the editor, if you have no app key you are essentially pirating our software to use the hardware and we don't want that
