    US<>Euro ECMs Mustang

    hi folks,

i have heard, the newer( 2012 up) ECMs are different, US and Euro spec....and they Euro version cannot be tuned with HP like the US Version...

background is, friend of mine wants a 2017 Euro Mustang with blower to be tuned, but before we take this challenge, it would be interesting, if this is possible...

    regards

Have an EU Spec ('15) and I'm using Hp-tuners without any problems.

By the way: There are some differences in the stock calibrations between US and EU. Mainly because of noise and|or other emmision regulations. There are different torque limits (especially the strange WOT 3rd gear power hole at lower rpm and speed on EU etc.) and other smaller diffs too.

But the ECM's itself are the same.

Nope, they have different pinouts and you can't load US tune in EU ECM.

oh ok, good to know. Have'nt ever tried to upload an tune (based on a US dump) directly on an EU Stang, therfore didn't noticed.

Thanks for the info. But the processors are the same I guess.

I did....and I was left "alone in the dark".

They are similar but not the same. Ford did some "funky" changes to EU models like swapped pins in PCM, BCM and other funny stuff...

Best would be to load both into the Editor and do a compare|diff., copy over the things that has been obviously castrated for the EU.

Had very good results by doing so. Car and pedal response feels way better now.

Example: "Pass By, Pass By Torque Limit" under Torque Management (US=disabled, EU=enabled)
