    Knock Sensor Level on Trucks?

I had a good feel for Gev III and IV knock sensor levels after a lot of tesitng, but not much on the Gen V.

I pulled quite a bit of timing out and still get some random false knock. I am running 93, does it in and out of PE, never hear and knock, it is always in the 1400-1800 RPM range and around 0.50/0.60 on the airmass. I am near factory timing right now, a little lower in some spots. I am just wondering if there is some higher injector or valvetrain noise in these areas.

I am really just seeing what others have had success with and why. I typically like to take out the big false knock levels, but leave them a little on the sensitive side so they won't miss knock. Again, I have not messed with these much to feel good.

Never bothered to work it out when it's outside of PE because it doesn't matter. The engine is not in danger and it's not hurting how the engine functions or behaves when it's such a low amount and because it's in low load situations.

Anything in PE (if I saw something), when around say 1 degree I'd just leave it be. It wasn't worth chasing my tail for something I can't get to repeat over and over and over again while street driving.

my 2016 5.3 had tons of knock cruising down the highway on 87, 92 made it go away 100%. Havent been able to log the 2019 since those parameters arent supported yet.

Thanks. I will tweak a little more on the timing to make sure the warmer weather isn’t screwing with me.

I also see kr in these areas, I'm very close to stock timing running E85 and it still shows up.

Any recommendations on decreasing? Obviously moving it around 5-10% could help through trial and error, curious if anyone has some improved but still semi-sensitive tables to share.

Does this occur in V4 mode or V8 mode or both?

Yea I get the same here and I am at E-80.2 . I only get 2 or 3 small less than 2 sec but they get up to 3 deg and come down fast. I am lower than stock by 4 deg now still does it

So anymore thoughts on what to run with? Run with lt1 values? Something in between stock and LT1?

I have some higher values around 1000 RPM in my tables. The problem is it goes back down by 1500 RPM. I need to pay closer attention to the logs to see if it happens prior to 1500 RPM. It may be as simple as lowering that area at higher loads.

I see a lot more of my KR from 1300 to 1600, occasionally I'll see it higher up but for the most part that's where i see it. It makes sense that high load and low rpm can cause some knock but it seems like I'm super low with timing. Even on e85 KR will knock the timing into the low teens in the 1500 rpm area.

I got rid of all of my KR today and gained about 30 HP by dropping 10% on all 3 Alchohol tables WOT, IG and upped the DD tables 10% above 62 TPS. aA few other small changes. But I was down about 10HP anyway..

Upping driver demand doesn’t make any power, just opens the throttle more for a given input. You will only see more power if it never truly opened 100% because the demand was too pow.

What alcohol tables did you change? Are you running E85?

any new info? same issue with a 2018 silverado. knock retard 1200-1600 rpms, stock timing on E70. No way that's real knock. Any update on realistic knock sensitivity numbers to put into that rpm range? I get 0 knock when under WOT of hard accel. Just when cruising at 40% TPS. crazy.

I got a lot better control of mine messing with the VVT timing and also how much retard to actually allow.

So you limited the allowable knock retard?
