p59, starts and dies in 3-4 seconds - open loop

This is a 5.3 with a big turbo, 3 bar map, DBW throttle body, th400, e85 , return fuel setup

    p59 ecm from a 6.0

    silver blade throttle body

major warm start issues, it starts very healthy and dies after 2-3 seconds, cant even keep it alive with the gas. Cold start was ok unless we just got lucky?

Its a bit of a down and dirty setup, no o2 sensors just open loop .

I feel like im missing something just cant figure out what.

Once it does finally run after several tries or a rest it runs great and idles good

any suggestions would be highly appreciated

try min fuel mg of .010
i notice you have a sloping injector offset table... if your return regulator is vacuum referenced it should be the same vertically all the way across.

set maf codes to mil first error. uncheck ses to turn the lamp off for those codes
add some airflow to your startup airflow initial ... see if that helps.

what throttle body do you have?

You need to zero the MAF Frequency Fail High to force it to SD mode. Also change the 3 MAF codes to MIL on First Error.

    thanks for the quick responses.

    Ls2 silver blade TB

what should I set the offset to ? 1 on the entire table ?

Ive gone really high and really high with idle air with no change... also tired to add and remove idle spark but no change.
It starts so healthy and dies, would something as simple as having my 3 maf codes to no error cause the issues i'm seeing?

Its a 3 bar Os upgrade, the truck has no maf in it so it always shows "O" in the scanner

I also tried setting the 3 maf codes to "no mill light" and had same issue

etc area scalar should be around .015719 for the 90mm blade
what is your engine off map sensor reading in kpa? and local elevation?
does your iat read a reasonable value?

engine off kpa reading is 105 which I think is normal, idle and startup is higher then normal though, once it does start at 850-900 rpm the kpa is 80-83

Im at sea level in the north east .

    Iat value is normal

as far as the TB, Ill try it but would that really cause it die after it starts?

Now this may sound a like stretch, but the fact my tune is from a 6.0 and im actually using a 5.3 shouldn't matter correct?

its almost like the throttle body slams shut and the pedal doesnt even work to try to keep it alive

UPDATE : upon further inspection I’ve learned the throttle body is a gold blade NOT a silver, Will this cause the issues I’m seeing ?

I’m reading the gold blade ls3 throttle body can’t be used with a older p59 ecu

The throttle scalar is key for the Dbw stuff because that's how the ecu converts the percent value into an area and vice a versa.
In the last discussion I read on this gold silver blade stuff, users were getting silvers to work but not the gold. I believe xlink was making a device that allowed gold to be used in a p59 but I haven't kept track.

105kpa at KOEO seems higher, sea level should be around 99-101kpa. Check the sensor part number and that the settings are correct.
