If you log gov pressure I have it setup to show when it is locked up or not. If desired is at 127psi it?s locked, if it only reaches 115psi it?s not locked. Helpful for when looking at data logs.

The only PID I can log for trans pressure says its Line pressure, but the reading is acting like Gov pressure. Up to 96psi is unlocked but when it sees 100psi the truck is locked up. The truck upshifts great, and it unlocked from 4th gear perfectly, unlocked with OSS at 1700rpm and engine speed at 1200rpm when in overdrive. But it still wont unlock in 3rd gear. In this log I pulled it out of gear at 16mph and 650rpm because it was still locked up.

Smarty does the same thing in the data logger, calls governor pressure line pressure. The 48RE doesn?t have a line pressure sensor. I?ll take a look when I can, I had trouble with 3rd unlock on the truck I built that tune with but only when it was in tow/haul mode. I?ll see if I can find the cause of 3rd lockup not releasing when it should.

Did a few tweaks in background parameters and a little tweak to the 3rd lockup schedule.

I see what you are talking about with the gov pressure, if you monitor desired you will see where it jumps to 127psi during lockup other wise max commanded is 115 when not in lockup. There is an offset in there where actual never shows as desired.

On the engine side, the logs don't go much beyond 35mph and lighter throttle use but look like its running decent.

It?s running great, and I?ll log the desired gov pressure too. When I?m off work I?ll flash the truck and if the trans is figured out I?ll do a couple WOT pulls

Hopefully that 3rd lockup not releasing issue will be resolved now *fingers crossed*. The programming on the trans side, like algorithm control seems to be a bit different between different model years on the 48RE. The 06-07 has more parameters too, especially when it comes to exhaust brake function in collaboration with 48RE control.

It unlocks in 3rd now! Works great except for one thing, no 3-4 when wide open. I lifted at 3300, my hard limiter is set for 3400. I did a scrap run for work today and a guy at the yard asked how I got my truck to sound like that, I guess you dont hear a common rail rattling away like that too often!

I?ll take a peak, I didn?t touch the WOT parameters.

See if this one helps with WOT 3-4. I knocked down the WOT anti-hang timer from 7 seconds to 0.5 second. One thing to note with the 48RE is there are shift lag parameters in there the transmission has to learn every time you reflash the ECM. In your case, this tune file for your truck, they are all gone, all delays and shift lag terms gone other than the WOT which I never touched. Stock the WOT anti-hang timer begins at 3000 engine rpm for a 7 second period before it forces an upshift. Target engine rpm for upshift at WOT is 3075 engine rpm with a high and low window between 3025 and 3125 engine rpm for it to adjust itself within as it relearns shift lag time.

If you have an electronic wastegate solenoid, play around with the charge air flow limit table and desired charge air flow tables to dial your turbo in. When this tune was built, the truck had a stock charger on it but a manual wastegate control set at 38-40psi so I had those tables maxed out on the original tune.

Got something pulling fuel back as you hit 2900 engine rpm as well.

Spool is pretty good, not as good as my other tunes with pilot, but nothing to complain about. Im going to try that tune out right now. Not sure if I have time to hit the highway for a wot 3-4 though. I just noticed I do have something pulling fuel on the top end, I normally log the fuel correction reason but I forgot to save my layout and I hit a wrong button so I lost it all, I should have all the PIDs back now.

Yea spool is inherently a bit slower without the pilot event

Okay, master fuel correction reason is "Air Density Lim". Ive never ran into this one before.

Is there a PID for the ambient pressure sensor? Turbo might be pulling it down far enough to be causing it.

What sort of benefits do you see with the vp tune?
