2006 SRT 6.1 with surging idle. what am I doing wrong?

    Hey Guys,

Ive got a 2006 SRT 6.1 here that has a TT kit on a very mild camshaft. I can't for the life of me get this car to stop surging. When it doesn't surge and finally finds it'self it can idle at 800 very calmly (very small cam). I've tried many combinations of the desired throttle, throttle body model airflow, and minimum airflows. Along with minimum timing and maximum timing.

One thing about this TT kit is that it caps the PCV suction on top of the intake manifold and vents the PCV to atmosphere. If I remove the cap and induce a small vac leak into the manifold as stock would have it (via PCV through fresh air inlet on drivers side) it will idle perfectly. I can have it start and hold idle. I can also have it rev and come down nicely without surging at all. I understand what the leak is doing but surely there must be a way to tune this minimum throttle into the tune? when I move minimum airflow it still wants to surge (albeit less).

Please have a look at this file and let me know what you think I'm doing wrong. Much appreciated!mark TT id1050x.hpt

thanks coanan. Did this tune have the extra PCV air still functional as extra air to the engine? or blocked off at the intake manifold as well?

Don't know, just something I had. I like comparing other tunes to mine.

Try removing 10% from the entire Small Range table and the entries <= 501 lbs on the Large Range table. For your airflow table take 15% off the .1 and .2 rows and 10% off the .3, .5, .56, and .71 rows

Have you tried working with your friction torque model tables?
