Did you rescue the laptop with all the pix etc though? Wasn't quite sure from your post.

Now you just have to work the insurance guy...
And find a "replacement" -- like there is such a thing for all the hard work & time you put into it.

yep got the laptop out but not my hpt box and cable. i had "installed" the cable. i remounted the obd port and ran the cable inside the dash for a more clean look. so i couldn't just rip it loose and run like i did with the other stuff.

unfortunately with the HPT box you may have shot yourself in the foot with the insurance company..
usually because HPT cant determine what you have spent your liscence credits on they cannot just issue a new box with all the credits on it...
you will have to get your insurance company to give you the appropriate amount to purchase a new HPT box and all the credits you have already spent with it...
and because you have a box that modifies the vehicle it might be hard to get them to give you money as they will point out that your vehicle may have been destroyed because of "mods"...even though it may be completely unrelated...
if it is unrelated then just keep fighting for it and you will eventually get your money...just might take a little longer

and I dont speak for the owners...but if you send the box back to them...and they can get data off of it..they might just replace it
they have policies that they will explain to you in reguards to this situation...as it is unique...

Im sorry to hear about your truck. Thats strange that it would start from the trans.(or somewhere on the back of the engine)

Were you logging at the time? Maybe you could look at temps and such? I dont know.

Could it possibly have been on the fuel rail in the back, or was it more to one side?

As long as everyone is OK that's all that really matters. As much as we all love our rides they are still just "Tin and Rubber" when you really get down to it. Enjoy doing it all over again, now at least most of it will be easy! Looks like you've had a lot of practice.

yep had tons of practice with that lpe cam. it was a b*tch to tame. lpe doesn't make it any more. they said it idle too ruff for there likeing. they weren't joking.
