E38 Manual Trans ECU cannot be used w/ automatic trans? --- TRUE or FALSE?

Been on and off the phone for the past few hours trying to figure this out.

    I have a 2008 Corvette LS3 ECU E38 that was made for a manual transmission (T56).

I have a car that is expected to run a 4L60E. The 2008 Vette ECU starts/runs the engine, I bought a T42 TCM, but haven't messed with it yet.

I was told I cannot run this 2008 Corvette LS3 ECU, because it's OS was setup for a manual transmission. So it wouldn't communicate (or something) well w/ the T42.

And I would assume vice versa - it seems like an automatic E38 ECU could not be used if you converted it to a manual transmission, correct?

Could someone confirm this is true? Before I go and buy another ECU that came off a vehicle w/ an automatic?

    Thanks!!!!

Sorry for the late response.. The LS3 Manual ECU cannot run an Auto, and an ECU from an auto will run a T56 conversion, but you will have issues such as speedometer. It's best to grab an ECU from a manual transmission vehicle
