    High speed gov issues?

Got my truck back together with the s464, 103 valve springs, studs and 110hp injectors. I seem to be coming up against some sort of fuel limiter, the only time my log was able to pick up "high speed gov" was when I spun the tires in manual 2nd gear. Ill post the tune, a WOT pull where my fuel rate isnt going high enough and then the log where you can see high speed gov come in at 27 seconds. Im aiming to get my WOT shifts around 3800, I know this tune isnt there yet, but thats my rpm im trying to run with full fuel. Any help is appreciated!

Haven?t looked at your tune but your WOT shifts you want to build around the engine tuning. Your torque will peak at X rpm, you want to aim your upshift to occur so when the rpms reach full bottom of the next gear the rpms fall within your peak torque rpm to maximize acceleration.

Just food for thought on when to command upshift at WOT.

Not sure on the cause of not hitting max fuel, nothing is really jumping out at me for reason why

Hit the dyno today, made 566hp and 1064ftlbs. Same tune but 2700uS and more rail pressure. I still have something pulling fuel after 3000 rpm, the reason comes up as high speed gov. I have my limiter set to 3800 rpm and on the pull it wouldn't go past 3600. Frustrating when I know the truck has more power left in it. Any ideas?

Hi speed Gov PID needs to be changed as well as the rpm limits under the fuel tab. Figure out a different way to set a fuel cut for max rpm desired, like Boost limit A and Pedal tables. Then you can pretty much max out most of the tables under the fuel tab. That's where a lot of your issues are coming from. Same with all of your hi-speed gov limit tables, max them out. If you don't want to max them out, go up to atleast 7000 or so.

Compare and copy the governor changes I made in this.

The PID Dom mentioned is one of the things I changed in the above attached. I didn't max out the rpm limiters but some more important ones I raised up high enough they should be out of the way for your desired max rpm and set the appropriate rpm limiters for the automatic trans to your desired max rpm, if those interfere, raise them up.

Thank you Jim and Dom for the help, ill drive the truck tomorrow with the changes and see what will happen! Under the governors tab there is a group that says "proportional" that is enabled, should I also disable that one?

You can leave it enabled, it?s the rpm setting in the feedback section that are important

Okay those gov changes made it a ton better, it will actually rev up to 3800rpm on a pull. In my data log my total fuel rate is still moving around and going lower than I want it too when im WOT. Master fuel correction reason says "Running Normal (allspeed)". Any ideas?

That would be under the fuel tab. I know it says don't max it out.. But I've never had any issues maxing them out. Go down to the bottom where it says all speed governor and go up to at least 6500. Again, I've never had any issues maxing them out.

I have mine set at 4650rpm, does it start its calculations before the set rpm? Ill change it and see what happens.

It does. I assume it's on a PID loop which measures rate of acceleration and modulates aggressiveness of the limiter accordingly so that it's not a sudden derate, but more of a linear derate.

Just thought id give an update, I now have full fuel to 4000 rpm. Now im working on getting my turbo to spool better, I wish I would have done more research before picking the s464 swap. Starting to think I should have gone with a s300 frame charger. I can get it to light off fast, but its way too smokey. And if I get it running clean I dont have the fuel to spool it in any sort of reasonable time. Any tips for using post injection to spool the turbo?

Kinda why I mentioned the sxe s300 frame before being better choice with the injectors you mentioned you were going to. It?ll take some finessing with your duration table, rail pressure, timing and limiter tables to bring things in clean

Yeah I definitely should have listened, but hindsight is 20/20. Ill try to get this tuned good, but if all else fails ill try to sell a low mile s464 and then probably go for the s366sxe.

Try to control your duration till the turbo begins to light then start opening it up. I?ve typically seen if you aren?t move enough air and engine rpms aren?t high enough, above 1050ish microseconds of duration you?ll start seeing smoke, timing and rail pressure will have an effect on it as well

im my tune played with timing and made a huge differences.....jim and dom correct me if im wrong but his max timing seam low for the duration and rpm ?
