    10r80 Inferred Grade

What is Inferred grade and what's the difference between Inferred Grade and Inferred Grade 2?

I'm hoping it has something to do with the transmission setting that causes an automatic downshift when coasting down a hill to try and maintain speed without applying the brakes. I'm hoping it is because I really don't like the transmission doing that except in towing applications.

Why don't you like it? Keeps the brakes cool, engine is in DFCO so your using no fuel.

More wear and heat on the trans. I wouldn't like it either. EZ to replace the brakes, not EZ to replace the clutch packs in trans. Plus maybe I'd want to speed up going down a hill.. it's more fuel efficient! In a way glad I don't have a 2018.
Knock Retard is the reduction or prevention of knock by lowering ignition timing:

(+) Adding Knock Retard = Reducing Timing. PCM is seeing knock.
(--) Lowering Knock Retard = Increasing Timing. PCM isn't seeing knock.
