    MAF Sensor or Tune?

I got my LTFT's set pretty good in SD. When I reinstated MAF, the numbers were way high again, running lean. I found an air leak in my cobbled up intake tube so I made up an aluminum tube and no more air leaks. However, trims are still high.

Would I be looking at the MAF sensor or do I need to make adjustments to the tune?

if your trims or wideband are telling you it wants more fuel, give it more fuel via the MAF. If you keep having issues where its requesting more and more, then you may have underlying issues. Also make sure the MAF is nice and clean. I wouldn't just throw a new MAF at it unless you have a known good one laying around you can swap it with to try.

    Thanks.

I don't like throwing parts around.
Now I just need to figure out HOW to tune the MAF.....

same way you do the VE when doing speed density, you're just adjusting the MAF table instead of the VE table. By an AFR error or fuel trim precentage.

When you reinstate the MAF, make sure you "disable" the dynamic/VE to keep it from influencing fueling as much as possible. Then tune the MAF, THEN put it back in blended mode.

I watched the MAF video and the fella says to disable LTFT's but I don't have a "disable" available. ????

    It's not labeled as a enable/disable feature.

Raise the long term fuel trim enable temp to 284 degrees and it'll stop them forever.

You would have had to have disabled all the trims and closed loop if you used a wideband tuning the VE.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Thanks...I just looked and this was on a 98-02 FBody in the video.

I have them both at 284. Correct? Min and Max ECT LTFT's

    Just NB tuning at present.

I've done a bunch of cruising and playing and doing things wrong.

I finally got it so it's not running lean. STFT's are slightly rich. I've got a wide band hooked up but I somehow lost it, it's not logging anymore. Hooked up thru AC wire.
So, I finished tuning without it.
    Log attached.

And a log after reinstating everything that was shut off for tuning.

    No opinions on the logs?
No worries.......what's the next step? VE and MAF finished.
