Trying to read 2018 Infiniti Q60S and getting a "x7F: Negative Response Code"

I am trying to read my 2018 Infiniti Q60 with 3.0 VR30 using SH_7253_131 and the other one and both are giving me the same error codes. "Reader upload request:x7F Negative response code"

It says the operating system is 14GE6A.

    Any ideas?

Haven't tried reading an Infiniti, but when I get an x7f its either low system voltage or bad USB cable.

I updated to the beta software and now I am getting a "FAILED TO RETRIEVE FLASH DATA". I sent the infolog to HPT and am awaiting their response.

0x7F error on Nissan is almost exclusively battery load too high (if it's not bad USB cable related). Need to make sure everything is turned off, these things are finnicky. No A/C, no headlights, no radio, etc.

As for the failed to retrieve flash data, it's because we don't have your file stored on the server. The read of your vehicle is an actual read of the calibration, and a "virtual" read of the OS section. If we don't have your file stored on our server we don't allow the read to finish. We have to purchase it and then create a definition, then you'll perform the read after all of that is done.

Also the controller type for the VR30 is SH_7253_331, but on downloading latest beta (when it's ready, it isn't yet) it should auto-identify as that controller.

Will this have to be done before tuning every Nissan/Infiniti ECM?

Responded to your ticket but since it's posted here publicly: tuned with ecutek. They lock the read. Have to return to stock first.

I was able to put the ECM back to stock and successfully read the ECM.

I notice that engine diag and the transmission tables are blank. Will those be available at a later date?

Any update on the ETA for engine diagnostic and Transmission tables?

DTC lists have been added in, if you don't see them send in a support ticket with your OS ID. No ETA on trans stuff.

This is an old thread, but I feel it's worth noting.

I am tuning a 2019 Q50 twin turbo, and the headlights were causing this issue. So, make sure the headlights are off. It worked as soon as I turned them off.

So this is something HPTuners needs to fix. Infinitys & Nissans wont allow you to tune them until you unplug all of the Aftermarket radio equipment and you have to unplug items from the cig lighter and turn off headlights. if you still cant tune it, they likely have something hooked up to the fuse box or battery still. Hope this helps

Well I'll tell you right now it's not on all of them. This is the first time I ran into an issue where the headlights caused that type of problem and this one was actually 100% bone stock. It may have had aftermarket headlight bulbs in it but overall from what I gather it means that there is electrical interference in some way shape or form so it could be a bad ground it could be faulty wiring causing it but just as a you know rule of thumb anything that's drawing power from the vehicle should be either disconnected or turned off so it's just communicating with the ECU and the ECU alone. If it draws power and you have the ability to turn it off turn it off is what I've learned from that one. Especially on like a Q50 or q55 where it takes you know 20 minutes or half an hour to read the whole ECU you know make sure your computer doesn't go to sleep make sure your computer is plugged in make sure the battery is on a trickle charger at least for the first read in the first write and just like Alex said turn anything aftermarket or that could possibly be drawing power in general off. That seems to have worked well so far
