Using GoPro GPS to the App on iPhone

I race bikes and want to keep my phone inside my suit.

Will this app work using the connection from my iPhone to the GoPro GPS rather than using the iPhone GPS?

The GPS signal while inside my suit is quite spotty while the GoPro 7 Black GPS is bang on.

Any advice is appreciated,
