how do yall go about getting good data for speed density on the highway?

Try to hit different cells in as much of a steady-state condition as possible, then set up relevant filters in your histogram. Example of the filters I use to get repeatable data:

    1) Fuel Trim Cell to get rid of deceleration and/or idle (I look at those in separate histograms for clarity)
    2) Injector Tip Temp to ensure you are within a tight operating band
    3) Coolant and/or Oil and/or Intake Valve Temps to ensure you are at operating temperature
    4) Slope of TPS signal below a certain percentage for about 2-3 seconds to ensure you are at a steady state throttle input
    5) Number of cell hits at least 25 or more

I had thought of the cell hits but not the filters. I imagine the filters are in the graph setup? how do you set up the fuel trim, temps and tps?

There is some real good detailed threads on what you are looking for if you search.

Tip: make a trans tune that will hold gears way down in the rpms and manually shift it. Get it into 3rd or 4th gear max, and start logging You'll get better data faster if it doesn't shift and you can hit all the cells easier.
