Question High idle when cruise, Comp Cam 268

Hello guys, nice to meet you...

This is my last chance, to solve my biggest problem in my live, at the moment.

Two years ago, I had the dump idea, to swap a 6.1 Hemi into my Chrysler 300C LX with 5.7 Hemi.
So I bought a car with a body damage, take out the Engine, transmission and all the other stuff like PCM, TCM...
I teared down the Engine, build it up with ne parts from Melling and Mopar and put in a Comp Cam 268, with better valve springs.
After I put everything together, I had installed a custom tune from my tuning dealer and start driving.
The PCM was taken from the 6.1 vehicle from 2006. The tuning software was from diablo with intune.
After 1 year driving an testing an 25 tunes later, my tuner said, there must be an issue with the engine like vacuum leak etc.,
because the engine drive without foot on the gas, with 1200 rpm in each gear, until I slow down to maybe 25 KPH.
I had tear down the intake several times, with new gaskets, but it won't get better.
Now, after I had heard from HPTuners and the throttle crackers, with many videos on Youtube, I bought the interface and credits, read out the tune
and try my best, to delete the Idle. First I take down every idle adders, after that, I modified the throttle voltages and airflow. (Throttle Body Airflow and feedforward control small and large range). This helps a lot and the high idle was gone, until I started to take the fuel trims to zero. My fuel trims at idle were at +8% in the log file.
If I add these 8% in the editor, clear all adaptives and drive, the first 50km are good, but after these, the idle starts to go up.
I'm at the bottom of hope, please can someone help me with this issue?6.1hemicompcam.hpt

I can't answer you Question, Not sure how. ...but the guy who started this thread https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...08-srt-426-n-a had a similar issue but keep in mind his cam and engine is bigger.
Also I noticed Engine General you changed engine size to 6.1 but left Displacement as 5.7 I read some where on here that can be an issue , If I'm wrong I hope some one comes by and corrects me.

Thank you for your answer. I also had played with the throttle maps, but after driving some miles, the car cruises again with high idle. The next thing I have noticed... When I drive 300 miles after Upload the tuning file, Park the Car, start it Again and drive with 3000 rpm, switch into N, the rpm stays at 3000rpm until I stop the car.

He's using the 6.1 ECM, maybe it should be 6.1 in displacement. Normally using the original ECM you would leave the 5.7.

    Do some air flow comparisons.

Thank you for your message. I have tried it with the 5.7 PCM but it was undriveable. Also, the Maps from the 5.7 PCM ends at 5800rpm

Check your idle speed rolling adder settings, make sure these are zeroed out as well

Hello again, thank you for your attention. All the adders are zeroed out. This was the first thing, I had done. If I use my original 5,7l ECU with the Tuning File it won?t start, because the Injectors shuts or after a half of a second. My tuner had modded the tune, but I don?t know, what he has done. With the modded tune, the Engine starts and sounds good, but after maybe 2 minutes, it begins to surge between 1400 and 1200 rpm. If this happens and I restart it, it begins to idle up to the idle Rev limiter for 5 seconds and come down slowly to 1400rpm and begins surging again. It?s not drivable, because it?s over the transmission stall Speed. Anyone an idea?

The Airflow tables look off. Here is some things you can try:

    - Disable Sensed MAP
    - Enable Baro Learning
    - Reduce Max Airflow by 40%

    - Airflow Table - Remove 20% from rows 0-.71 and 14% from rows .87 - 1.02
    - Small Range Table - Add 45% to the entire table
    - Large Range Table - Add 44% to rows 0 - 501, 40% to row 902, and 19% to rows 1853 and greater

Did you already adjust your Torque Airflow Offset tables? These make a big difference in idle with minimal changes.

Thank you, but if I do this, the rows are exactly the same as stock. Disable Sensed Map doesn?t change anything. Only the fuel Trims goes to -10%.
The only thing that control the Idle in my care are small Range and Large Range Table. The airflow table didn?t change anything and also the torque airflow offset table.

You may want to set the Fuel Trim Cells Idle Select to VSS.

The first step was to bring your tables closer to stock on the bottom rows. Based on some calculations I did vs. stock, you can give these a try:
