    (way o/t) Stock replacement carb fuel pumps these days...

    Silly question. Is it possible to buy a stock, engine-mounted mechanical fuel pump these days that doesn't make 14-18 psi? I realize the Chinese factory that makes all of them for everybody doesn't understand why this won't work on a stock vehicle with a stock carburetor, but why do the U.S. resellers keep importing them? Carquest, NAPA, even AC Delco are putting their labels on these things and none of them will work without adding a deadhead regulator.

    Solved. Carter 'Muscle Car' series, M4685, generic 2-line SBC pump. Advertised as 7psi, makes actual 7psi. No more flooding.
