I need to do some scanning on my car and I've got the OBDII to serial cable for hptuners.... I don't have a serial input on my computer, what can I use? Are there adapters or should I order a different cable? Just need to log...no need to tune!! Dyno tuned already... Can I use any OBDII to USB cable or does it have to be from hptuners??
both the MPVI1 and MPVI2 use, and come with, a usb cable...you don't need any other cable or adapter.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...

I don't own anything currently from HPTuners but an OBDII cable. I merely need to run a data log. Do I have to purchase software, or will an HPTuners OBDII cable be enough? If I do have to purchase, how much is it just to data log? I prefer to use my laptop....
