    2017 Ranger 3.2l update help

    I have started a ticket.
In mean time, looking for faster response.
I am trying to work out a tune file for a 2017 ranger 3.2l diesel.
I have downloaded latest suites beta and standard.
Standard only gives me trans tuning options.
Beta gives me an update file. Now when I try to update just as it begins to download boot loader power in vehicle shuts off. Then when Beta tries to write it times out. Is there some sort of CAN system combo I need to be utilizing to keep computer "awake"?
    TIA

Is this update process working now?.

Also, is the ECU update that gets applied to allow ECU reading (and presumably writing) seen as as an ECU re-write (from a Ford perspective) or is this just altering a SID209 operational setting?.
I just tried to read a SID209 (Ranger 3.2) and got the message that the controller requires a software update to enable an ECU read and presumably, write.

Yes, writing appears all good now for SID208/209 and TCM1766.
Tuning with the stock turbo is limited for the SID209 IMHO, so making things a little richer is about all you can do. A decent power increase will need a bigger turbo.
I find the layout and naming of the tables in the Editor a bit confusing at times which makes altering the 'correct' tables a bit of a challenge.

Can confirm reading/writing to SID209 and TCM1766 is ok. I'd suggest putting the battery on charger while flashing - they suck a bit of battery juice not running with all the modules fired up

Current tune playing with A6 shift points. Wish these things had a tighter convertor

    Ranger modified A6.hpt

    How do you mean?
Stall speed or converter lockup? Converter lockup is configurable.

Stall speed. Mine seems very loose and is a pain with the van on the back

you need to pull fuel out not add fuel......when i got my aftermarket exhaust installed stock AFR was Richer and made less power.....when car was leaned out with more boost it made more power.

adding more fuel adds a tiny bit of power but EGT's go up more....u need to remove fuel until you see a loss in power drastically, once power falls off then you know you found perfect optimal complete fuel burn...from there add more boost and slowly increase boost. NOW A BIG MASSIVE SIDE NOTE.....I'm not a tuner but Gale Banks the Grand daddy of diesel tuning explains this....Also my car made 118RWKW 18psi Rich AFR stock exhaust....after Tune with 3"TBE 22 PSI Lean AFR car made 135RWKW
