Is it possible to get codes or other data on an old ODB 1 car?

Hi, with an adapter cable to go from ODB 1 to ODB 2 would I be able to read any data on my old 1986 Corvette using my HP cable and software? Thanks.

No you would need a scanner that supports ob1 gm. The old snap on brick, OTC monitor 2000 or anything newer should work. Those PCMs used a prom chip instead of flash programming like what hp tuners does

You can also short out pins A and B on the ALDL connector and get codes, or you can look into Moates hardware and tunerpro software to get actual data for around $100.
