16 Z06 Just curious what all is typically adjusted for headers only

    2016 Corvette Z06 A8 Stock Read James.hpt
Hello. I am just curious what is typically changed on a long tube header only tune. I have been looking at as many videos I can find. I would like to figure out how to slowly tune each mod as I add them. These dyno shops are getting too pricey.
Is it the VE table and maybe speed density?
I have not even bought the headers yet. Im more curious if I can figure out the tuning first.

Most importantly the afr. It will go leaner with headers. You want to stick a wideband on it and adjust the Mass Air Flow Frequency table.

    Ok thanks the input guys!
So is the MAF table the one that adjust fueling? I have a AEM with OBD pass through and can log AFR.

    MAF Calibration, airflow vs. frequency.

The MAF table and the VVE tables control fueling.
2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

Correct. MAF table when in PE or running Open Loop and VVE when in Closed Loop.
