4L60 WOT no shift- - - Gear tire wizard inacurate?

I emailed support but they weren?t able to help much.

P59, 03 avalanche, 4L60 in a 1966 Ford f100

Truck will not make 2-3 shift at WOT. Had issues getting the truck to shift 1-2 @ WOT as well but is working better now. I entered 28.7" and 4.10 gears in the gear/tire wizard. It gives me 2,997.3631 for trans revolutions per mile and 115,246 for VSS pulses. When I do the the math for revolutions per mile with 28.7" and 4.10 gears, I get a different number than the wizard says.

28.7 x 3.14 = 90.118
63360/90.118 = 703.0781
703.0781 x 4.10= 2,882.6205

115,246/40 = 2,881.15

I have made all of the trans shift speed settings the same for 94 and 100% throttle in both the full throttle and part throttle shift speeds with still no success. I've tried moving the shift speeds many times with no success.

I guess my question is, if the wizard is inaccurate like my math shows, could this be the shifting issue? I?ll be the 3rd tuner trying to figure this issue out and stumbled across this inconsistency with the rev per mile and VSS numbers

those are what I get doing it both ways on my car but somehow the tune in the car says 2789.999 and thats how it was set when we got the car and it works. either way the 2 numbers you have up there are very close to each other. can you post your tune so we can see if something else pops out to us.

Your downshift speeds are higher than the upshift speeds. And the trans revs/mile should be 2880.

something else to check is, the pulses. Generally they are 40 but I was running into the same problem you are seeing after a swap. I went from a 4l60 to an 80 and because my is 4x4 it didn't have a reluctor gear, so I had to change the pulses to 21 so get it to accurately shift and the speedo to be right. The sensor is working, its just not seeing the reluctor.. cuz there aint one.. I found that info on a forum and what seemed like forever searching. Wish I could remember the link.
