Knocking driving me INSANE
Hello everyone I'm new to the forum and new to hptuners.
Info:
-2014 Camaro v6 LFX motor
-K&n Cai
-Solo catback exhaust
-throttle body spacer thingy (previous owner mounted..)
-intake manifold spacer(previous owner mounted..)
I also have a flex fuel sensor installed
Always run 93 octane shell fuel
So, I basically bought the car like this. It came with the OVERKILL 91 ethanol capable tune installed, ran it on that tune for nearly a year. And just recently bought the mpvi2 . And surprisingly discovered massive amounts of knock.
Immediately switched it over to a stock tune to see if issue persisted. And sure enough massive amounts of knock. On the stock tune??? Running on 93??? Now I don't know if this is a mechanical issue with my car, false knock or just real knock, and would greatly appreciate any help and advice on what to do. Logs and tune will be posted on next post because I have them on my pc

Downloaded both the tune files, neither are Overkill tunes. Send me an email [email protected] if you want, let me know who the original owner was, I can check if he was a customer. Maybe the tune was removed before he sold it. Nothing out of spec really on the tuning, its just a matter of revising the settings to help deal with the spark knock, these motors are typically never KR free unless you keep the intake valves and piston tops decarboned but the stock tune does run some spark knock while cruising that relies on the spark adaptives to self correct, doesn't always work out.
