I had my new to me used mpvi2+ shipped to my work and had plugged in the device on my work pc and it upgraded the firmware by itself. I went to use it at home and it doesn?t say the device is being recognized. The vcm editor I have at home is 4.8.6 and work must be newer. Is there a way to change the firmware for the device to work for my home pc?

Unfortunately there is no way to go backwards in firmware. Update your home pc to 5.0.4 or newer and it should work fine.
It doesn't have to be perfect, it just needs to be done in two weeks...
