    08 Solstice GXP tuning

    Hey folks,

I've been tuning for 7 years now.
    LS NA, Turbo and Supercharged.
    Dodge NA, Turbo and Supercharged.

I've tuned exactly one Ecotec, a turbo swapped 2.4L Solstice.
Came out nice after I re-engineered the Werks Turbo kit...?

A good friend now has an 08 Solstice GXP and of course wants more power.

So I've been reading and reading here until my neck hurts and eyes are blurry.

    I just have two questions:

    1. Can I get decent gains on a stock tune?
    2. Or should I start from the GMPP tune? It seems from all I've read that starting from the GMPP tune is the best approach as it has changes imbedded stuff that we can't mess with.

BTW, even though I tune Dodges, I love spanking them at the track. :-)
And we would love to spank a certain stock 5.7 Challenger with this Solstice.

    thanks,

    Ron

That car ran well. Sadly the owner passed away about a month after we finished the tuning.

I really want to know about tuning this GXP

    Thanks

    LNF engine right ?

There was lots of videos about tuning the LNF 2.0T on here long time ago.
Haven't looked since I got the GXP G8

expect a bone stock one to put down around 300 whp and 310-315 ish trq to the wheels. the kappa rwd eats up some power compared to the fwd variants like slobalts.

everything you need to know and get started should be easily found in the lnf bible, see signature bellow.

Thank you sir. I have not read those yet. I will do so!
Although I seldom log on to the cobalt site, I've seen you there.
I suppose I should tune my LSJ too.....

Top Sportsman eh? That's a fast class.

not enough people to run the class where i live. i slowed it down this year by removing the turbos to play with more people. trans is also lasting a lot longer.
i have not logged into cssnet or whatever it is since maybe 2010 ish. i just poke my head in and out of here when time permits.

I would suggest starting with the factory calibration and stay away from the GMPP tune. As CSSOB said, his bible thread that he put together has some extremely helpful information.

First things first, I would review these diagrams in this thread and then work from there - https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...ad-Information

Two other very important bits of info -
#1.) Fueling on the LNF is not like you would expect with a PFI platform. DI doesn't necessarily like what PFI likes.

#2.) The K04 doesn't like to be brought "online" super quick. It results in a nasty torque spike and a shitty power curve. Especially with a RWD platform.

    Thank you T-Man.
I'll print the LNF GDI Torque and Load Information.

Good to know that we don't need to start with the GMPP cal. That was my main question.
Do we need the updated MAP sensors?

Got ya on the hints about fueling and the turbo.

After the holidays, I'll get going on this. They don't drive the car much, so I'm sure I can just have it for the duration.

At least he put the WG actuator back to stock and the car runs normal now. Slow but normal.

    Thanks again

Factory sensor stop at 255kpa 23.5 psi range. If you want to read higher pressure then install and calibrate the gmpp sensors without the gmpp file.

Thanks, I’m thinking 23.5 psi will be plenty.
