Just got done swapping a rebuilt L31 into my 2002 Safari. did a segment swap to get the Express Van V8 stuff to run the engine. I also swapped the Express Van 4L60E stuff to run my original 4L60E that is in my van.
Van runs great, got the MAF calibrated to set LTFT to a point very close to 0% trim while driving.
The issue I'm having is the PCM will not command 4th gear. I can command it in HP Tuner Scanner. And it runs great in 4th after I command it and the torque converter locks as well. If it needs to unlock it for passing on the highway, it does it automatically and locks it back up after passing.
I can see the solenoids turning on and off as gears 1, 2, and 3 are requested by the PCM. When I command 4th it holds with no slipping and runs great.
Trans temp is in the normal range below 180 degrees.
No fault codes other than a cam/crank correlation due to a 37 degree cam angle issue Ill resolve tonight, I cant imaging the PCM will not select 4th due to this, but we shall see.
Ive also segment swapped my original V6 4L60E transmission and transmission diag parts back into the V8 engine file Im working with just in case some background setting was messed up, and it still wont shift into 4th.
Going to check the pressure manifold wiring from the PCM C1 and C2 just to make sure the pins are in good shape as Ive read of another person with a similar issue that ended up being the PCM pins to the manifold pressure switch.
Any Ideas would be appreciated.
