TCM Programing (new to HP Tuners please help)

If I copy a tcm file on a 2015 chevy truck before I remove the transmission. Install a new gm transmission. Can i write the file to the new transmission? Basically can I program a new transmission to a 2015 Chevrolet truck?

I haven't worked on a new model GM but as far as I know the TCM is not on the trans.

yes sir it is in the trans on 6l80E. if you swap one out you'll have to get it programed or flashed before it will shift. looks to me like if you can recalibrate the tcm's program you should be able to put the same program in a new one. I still like my hp tuner but damn they suck with help, directions, etc.

HPTUNERS WILL NOT PROGRAM A BLANK TCM, ALSO HPTUNERS DOES NOT WRITE EVERYTHING FROM THE FILE, ONLY SPECIFIC CALIBRATION PORTIONS. ANYTIME YOU INSTALL A NEW TCM, ESPECIALLY OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN i WOULD FLASH IT WITH A FACTORY FILE, THEN LOAD YOUR SETTINGS BACK IN

Where can I get a factory file to flash it? And flash it through HP Tuners, or does it have to be done using another program? I just ran in to this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You MUST use sps2 with a mdi2 or clone. After that is done you can tune with HP.
