    P0700 8 speed TCM.

I have a 2017 Silverado 8 speed that the owner had it tuned and had a HP tcm unlock. He took it to the dealer to get it check and somehow they rest the engine and TCM to stock settings. After I did the tune on it the truck it?s throwing a check engine code for P0700 transmisi?n control system. Truck drives good shifts good it just have that check engine, and when I read the file or tcm it?s days I will lose any existing changes, and the tables on the TCM are stock again. Anyone have run into this problem?

They most likely did an update on the TCM and PCM per usual

im a GM tech and this is pretty much a tranny temp code, all it needs is a new control solenoid and the code will go away

it also means the TCM is trying to give you its own code, so basically P0700 means there is a trans check light, and then you need to scan the trans module to really know whats going on.. P0711 is the temp sensor..

p0700 is not a transmission temp code

p0700 is a generic ecm code that is telling you to pull codes from the tcm, as it has set its own individual code, seperate from the ecm

"edit" also the tcm will tell you you loose all file info, as the tcm is not a "readable" module. try a read, hpt will give you a new file, hopefully the latest cal, then apply your changes over from the previous tune.
