Do I have to return to stock to flash Custom tune with SCT device

Was wondering if I have to flash my truck back to stock to use a max effort tune I bought a few years ago I am trying to get the transmission to have same TCC lock up and am going to race a guy from work
I am also having problem with low boost fueling I am about to tune my MAF DTC OFF and max the curve or just the Grams/sec

I would suggest going back to stock. But I don’t think you have to. A custom tune is gona overwrite all the values anyways.
So if you want to tweak it I would do stock > sct custom. > then modify with hpt to fine tune.

Do you think I can upload the HPT file into my SCT device I have never tried I thought it couldn?t be done I tried to do a read while tuned for comparison but I got a fail to read, or do you mean use my custom tune I built as my stock SCT FILE

Hey, I haven’t tried to read anything tuned lately but I know with my older versions of software I could read a tuned 6.4 when it had custom tune written with SCT. So stock to sct custom tune and read with hpt but it sounds like maybe that’s not allowed anymore? Don’t believe hpt or sct bins are compatible.

So maybe try older version of hpt when reading a tuned truck?

SCT has put a read block, you may get lucky or may not. you'll probably need to return the SCT to stock in order to read the file with HPT.

I have a HPT file already was think of leaving it tuned with my tune hoping SCT would think it was the stock read and I could switch back and fourth as needed but I don?t know if I?m going to try it not really worth bricking my ECU
