Lots done today. Almost ready to drop it on.
It will be next weekend before the startup for waiting on fans.
As of today, pump in, radiator and fans out, intake removed, pulleys and tensioner on, pinned the crank, mounted the pump, getting to and removing the fuel line at the firewall was fun, installed rail fittings.
Sparkplugs tomorrow, and if I can get help the blower will nest and the rails installed. But its football play-offs so............

coanan asked what gaskets shipped with it and I assumed the same as he had fail. Attaching pics of the label and where the trouble lies with no metal support. Edelbrock needs to see these for what they are not, as in forced induction grade.

She will be as shipped with the 3.25" and run (gently) on the canned tune from you until the Dyno.
I have been told I'll need a 1/4" drive 10mm shallow swivel socket. I pull wrenches for a living so I can beg or borrow.

They give a torque spec, really? Maybe a socket cap bolts and using a ball end bit. It's only 9ft lbs. Common sense ans experience time I guess. I did tap chase the threads today.

I received the 6.1L size radiator hoses today and they fit. The 6.1 hoses don't have the oil cooler branching.

You'll need the real shorty swivel to get them, they could of clearanced them better. I went with 12pt ARP second time around. You have the oil cooler on eng now that your eliminating? Mine 5.7 didn't have one, so I installed it, the 6.4 came with a large one(truck) didn't think I'd have room, so I put the 5.7 on it.

No oil cooler. This project and the radiator/fans upgrade is enough for now. I have texts out to all my wrenching buds for a socket and if I see a mac/snap-on truck I'm gonna ram it and rob it. LOL. I used the two index finger twist getting them ran down.
Its holding me up. Cannot do the rails and and such.

I need to see some e-force catch can installs. You have any?

You use the scanner to change the gear ratios on Dodge stuff.

Yes, I'm aware of that. The only thing it clears up is limp mode. Spoke to a few people and diablo wrote in far enough to fix the FCW/ACC, just haven't tried it yet. Initial gear change was done at dealer, tried using SCT programer that came with E-force and it wouldn't do anything, so I was there with HPtuners and did the changes, cleared limp mode left me without FCW/ACC, even tried resetting everything with Wytech and same result. Just been living without it, someday I'll try the diablo.

Are you running iridium plugs? The instructions indicate gapping any of the recommended plugs to .028.
I've never needed to change a gap on iridium plugs.
I don't want to screw up here.

Would love to see pre-cat o2 sensor install pics. I know it's tight in there. I have a ways to go before getting there but I'm going with the AEM X-SERIES OBD Connectivity unit.
It'll be a trip to the muffler shop to do it.

    Slacking eh?
Yeh, by me not seeing the specified 1/4" drive swivel, shallow 10mm socket in the instructions that I studied for two months before pulling the trigger I got halted.

Shes bolted on, belt is on and the fuel rails? Who's the funny boy that failed to write the PCV and Oil Fill blocks need to come off to get the rails set? I bet my deer in the headlights "They sent me the wrong rails" look on my face was a sight.

Not slacking. Even though I can write my own check I normally work 40hrs. But this project has me signing up for 12hr shifts to supplement the expense. I come home and hit a couple items and shut down. Full bore on the weekend.

I received the salvage yard dual fans today. The first thing I notice is their weight compared to the light weight crap aftermarket fans I just sent back. I had GPD and APDI fans here and what crap-ola. And to boot I had to order the $100.00 MOPAR dual fan wires.
So The cheap-o fans and the wires are all returned and I got a set of 39k mile dual fans off of a 2014 police charger for $140.00 with the wires in tact. Plug and play. eBay Veldmansauto. I spoke to them after the purchase to ask for faster shipping and liked the service. Without me asking he said if there is any issue with the fans to let him know.
I'm shooting for a start up this weekend if they don't draft me.

Dam, Got insomnia, hit the garage, in the blink of an eye hours past.

    Radiator, Fans, HX, Reservoir, Hoses.
Next, Air Box, TB, make a run for a t-stat seal and larger bottom hose radiator clamp. The pump wiring and extension cables.

Add coolant and fire it up without the fascia for leak monitoring. Maybe today?

The dual fans are easier to slip in. The upper and lower radiator seals are a pain and expensive.

    dual_fans_installed13.jpg

    hx_installed14.jpg

These things. Top and bottom are the same p/n. The rib in the center which points downward installed on the bottom was not slipped into a corrugated groove in the bottom support member. You cannot see it so when the radiator seems to be levitating its because that rib is holding it up.
Same thing for the top one. You gotta watch that rib. Dang two man job.

Good work. Forgot about the fuel rail install, yes the breather/filler ports have to come off, another E-force thing that could have been clearanced better. Not crazy about the big aluminum heat sink rails either. I went the same route on my dual fans, salvage 300 SRT.

Well I'm down to two hose clamps before filling and starting it up (with fascia off). I got insomnia last night and burned some midnight oil. Two clamps. I like to use factory style clamps and couldn't locate any.
I dropped the ball being prepared. Two of the OE I have did fine on the lower hose.
That dang air cleaner boot sucks. Its ugly and too long. Many 4 letter words and a razor later its on.

I'm glad the HX didn't cause issues with my train sound horns. They are the A,C,D,F note units found on 70's 80's caddys and such. Not as loud as trains but a good bit louder then the average horn set.

    I ordered the clamps.

Mines on 2, could be less, my bracket got bent, (pretty flimsy) and not sure it's back in right spot. My boost comes on real early, PE comes in 1.43 volts.
