    HPT shows weird Trans numbers

I got all the Trans issues fixed!!!
The only Trans problem now, is I will be in:
    P, R, or N
    and
HP Tuners will show that its in 1st!!!
When it upshifts to 2, 3, or 4 (by itself might I add )
HP T will show its in the 2, 3 or 4 gear respectively (it shows what it should).
    Its just weird

    On the road again....
Im just back on the road again.....

You're right about it showing 1st gear even in park and what not. My understanding is that when you log 'trans current gear' or whatever it is, that its NOT 'current gear'. A more appropriate definition should be "Trans predicted gear change" (read: what it thinks it will do next). You can also see it predict/change the gear shown before the car actually shifts. Whether or not thats just the 'desired shift time' taking effect or just that the vcm is thinking about it, i dont know. probably both.

The only failsafe current gear counter is a combination of (A) Common sense and (B) Counting the times the revs drop. lol

    lol

I usually have to let off my Throttle to get it to shift
Obviously my shifts are not set right for my 4.10s
I also need to fix my Desired shift times

Not trying to jinx you, but thats what i had to do when i blew up my trans. to get it to upshift. lol

If you want, i dont know much about it, but you -can- set all your shift times to 0 to disable the adaptive learning. You can try that after getting your upshift pressures right, and see if your 410's act right. Hopefully someone else will slide on over here and provide some more info for you. Good luck!

Post your stock file and I'll look it over for you. With the trans shift torque reduction disabled, that trans won't live long if the shift pressures are too low. Why is the WOT 3-4 set at 1000 rpm?

Probably a good idea to note, that if the pressures are too high, its just as bad.

Wow I totally didnt see that. Why is it 1000rpm? Thats like starting out in 4th gear when you hit it! Thats good for running 22's in the 1320, nothing more.

Its called "lugging the engine" and will easily destroy bearings

i have seen the stock and mail order tunes set the 4th gear to 1000rpms.

i just figured that they didnt mess with it because of hwy driving and at wot most peeps dont lay into it long enough to catch 4th gear.

i questioned the setting once and was told the the puter will need to see w/e rpm first, then it needs to see the mph point to command the shift. so seeing a min of 1000 enabled the "search/quest" of the puter to look for mph then shift.

i personally dont believe the concept but im a newbie at trans tuning...learning as i go.

Guess im not 'most people' then, i hit 4th well past 120. lol

Personally though, id rethink that 1000 rev shift, just to be careful. Look at some other peoples tunes and get an idea.

I HAD 4.10s in the car... but now they are busted
so I'm going back to the stock 3.42s today
I didnt change the trans settings... just changed the gear ratio from 3.42 -> 4.10s
