    Audi Battery Replacement Code Update

I have used the HP Tuners software to delete some cats on my Vette and so i know the software is quite capable. Does anyone know if HP tuners can change the battery code on an Audi? My S5 battery died and to replace the battery i need to update the battery code at the same time so it will charge properly. If anyone has instructions to do this i would appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Huck

I don't think so. HP will only talk to specific control units and depending on year/model for Audi will generally only work with the engine and possibly transmission control units. The battery info is stored in one of the body-related control modules, central electrics maybe?

Anyhow what you need is VCDS (aka "VAG-com") or something similar. If you look on Audi forums like Audizine there is tons of info on battery replacement including coding.

Thanks for the info. I am little bummed that the HP tuner can't "do it all". I will check out Audizine as you mentioned. Thanks, Huck

lol, the cable costs $299, ask a shop that "does it all", and ask them how much they have invested in software, cables, and scanners to allow them to do it all. It is tens of thousands of dollars. I feel the level of functionality that we get for $299 is insane

You need the VAGCOM cable for things you're talking about... just buy it, as you can also change tons of other parameters on the vehicle (e.g. drive mode settings, lights, warning buzzers, etc.).
