    Diesel rev limter

    Hey guys im new to diesel tuning, im currently working on a 2.8 duramax and wanting to know what controls the rev limiter? is it just a fuel cut off? my customer is wanting a popping style limiter and just trying to work out how do go about it

    Ive never TUNED a diesel YET (well I have tuned them up... valve lash, injector height, throttle delay... older detroits and stuff) but I dont think a "popping rev limiter" is even possible on a diesel. Plus I think it would be hard on the internals and possibly the turbo. Again I havent done a diesel yet so...
    Daily Driver= 2003 BMW 330xi
    Weekend Cruiser= 2009 Pontiac G8 GT (Vararam, TSP LS3 N/A Stage 1, OBX, CTS-V converter, MagnaFlows w/ J-Pipes, 160 t-stat)
    Project Car= 1991 Chevrolet Camaro RS (LQ4 w/ Gen 4 Rods, LS3 heads, turbo...)
    Truck= 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT LY5 4x4

    It can be done using alientech software and ecu shop but im not to sure if the stock ecm with hp can do it
