    ls3 top end

    good morning guys,

    I have this 6.0 with ls3 heads and truck intake 90mm throttle body problem is I cannot get the maf sensor to fail correctly, the harness im using is from a 2003 Silverado with the maf/iat sensor together, so everytime I tried to fail the maf its makes the whole tune surge and car sputters when trying to give it gas

    mods

    btr ls1/ls2 stage iv cam
    wiseco dome .40over +5
    dart 280cc pro 1 heads untouched
    6.2 truck manifold w/ 90mm ebay throttledee car.hplCal tuned.hpt

    Well it most certainly isnt failed in that tune, you have to put maf fail frequency high to something like 100hz. You cant unplug the maf on a 5 wire unless you break out the iat

    So after I set it at 100hz will I do the same steps as say a 2002 Camaro ls1

    Once you fail the maf, then you tune speed density like anything else

    Perfect I kept setting it to 0 and it kept getting worse so I asked thanks a lot I?ll give it a try after work today

    I never had an issue with 0hz and setting the 3 MAF DTC's to MIL on first error. P0103 needs to be present error to know you are for sure in speed density.
    2016 Silverado CCSB 5.3/6L80e, not as slow but still heavy.

    If you don't post your tune and logs when you have questions you aren't helping yourself.

    Ok I?ll try both ways to see which is effective also I know I need to disable cot and set abuse to 8000 and set high rpm disable to 2000 and enabled stft in open loop , -22 deceleration fuel sorry for the noob question just wanna make its right

    Good morning, I have attached two scans and the tune. one scan is idling and the other is me driving for a short duration now the problems I am have currently.
    problems: car has slight idle hang randomly ,if I blimp the throttle in drive (ex:2500rpm back to idle) the car will die, throttle is not very crisp and it has a very slight hesitation from idle (850) if i step on it but smooth transitions are fine (if i easy into the gas)

    now i know my trans wiring needs to be looked at because the temp and it sometimes starts in 2nd gear and sometimes in 1st gear

    any pro tips, constructive criticism and help is appreciated

    braf is crazy high.tune is set at 5.7 ci eng .main ve needs tuned in with wideband

    I lowered it after 154 but that was the only way to restart the car when it was hot, and I haven?t seen a difference when changing the cubic inches so I usually leave it, and the car is only a cruiser car no no need for wideband tuning on this car

    You will not get the VE in line without a wideband. Narrowband is too hit and miss, while the wideband is much more precise. Not saying you have to leave the wideband in after tune, just use it to dial in the tune, then use narrow o2 sensors for the minor fuel trim corrections AFTER the VE tuning WITH a wideband. You have changed the way the engine breaths with all those mods. You have to tune it for the mods. Watching narrowband o2 sensors for the last 15 years diagnosing cars has proven this to me when it comes to tuning. To put it bluntly, without correct VE and MAF tuning, your cruiser will run like shit, UNTIL IT IS TUNED. Or worse, you could hit a lot of lean spots and fry your engine.

    I'm new here, so if any of the more experienced tuners think I am wrong in this train of thought, please tell me as I do not want to spread false info, but from what I have learned, I am correct.

    I have realized that tuning is a rabbit hole. No problem diving down this hole, in fact I jumped willingly. Just want to avoid hitting every ugly rock or root on the way down it.

    BRAF is still high for that combination. Have you driven and logged this yet? I see MAF in your table, Is the MAF sensor still connected? If so disconnect it and remove it from the table if you aren't tuning with it. Myself, I zero the MAF table as well.

    I have since lowered braf tables and zeroed out the Maf, I’ve been working so I haven’t had a chance to tinker with the car much, but I will try to get a log this week with the updated tune file thank you guys for your help
