    how to change ecm?

    hi,
    I would like to change my ECM.
    I have licenced the vin of the car, hpt tune are ready to write on a used ECM from a crashed car.

    but if I plug the ECM from the crashed car on my car, it's locked and I can't connect.

    is it possible to change my ECM with a another used one or need I to buy a blank one?

    it's on a cadillac SRX 2005 v6, I think that I have a bad ignition...

    It might be possible that somebody tuned your "locked" PCM before you got it with a "tuner locked" operating system. If this is the situation, you would need that guy's password to get in.
