Any chance HPTuners will run on a Mac?

Okay....I checked on Apple site and you need to have WindowXP Home or Professional Service Pack 2 (which is supposed to be on a single disc) for installation to work.

You cannot install an older version and update it to XP. Nor can you later install Service Pack 2 (whatever that is???)

This is only valid when using bootcamp. With Parallels and VMWare (beta right now) you can run any PC OS (I have Windows XP, 2000, Vista, 98, 95, 3.1, and even OpenStep 4.2 running inside parallels..)

That is very good info. I love this MacBook

I wanted to use Bootcamp because I didn't want my computer exposed to internet. Probably you can circumvent this concern (?). But I also wanted to run HPT in as clean an environment as possible. Plus running Parallel must be processor intensive !!!

Anyways wish me luck....I'm going to try the Bootcamp/XP Pro install right now

Well I got XP Pro on my Mac. Very cool I can restart into either Mac or Windows !!!!!!

Now all I am missing is HPT

Just a little update.. Parallels is working on a new version that will be out soon, with usb 2.0 support.. Great news for people not wanting to mess with boot camp..

It takes less than 1 minute for me to reboot into Windows. It will run faster and longer (battery life). Its really very easy to install Boot Camp ..... after all, I was able to......

VMware Fusion is the new VMware Product for Mac OS X.
USB 2.0 is supported.

So I can use my MacBook with OS X....

I am happy rebooting when I use HPT. BootCamp was free. And reboots are VERY fast with the Macbook.

Can you use Windows 7 32 bit? I got it running tonight on a Macbook Air running Lion with Parallels 6...it was pretty painless!

Yes hp tuners is working with Parallels 6 and Windows 7 just fine!

I also got a free upgrade to Parallels 7 and it runs a ton faster...get Parallels 7. If you buy 6 between 8/1/11 and 10/31/11 they will give you a free upgrade so shop around.

Ditto. I use Boot Camp with Win7 Pro x64 for tuning (faster and it worries me less), but I have tried VMWare Fusion 3 for tuning and it also seemed to work well.

I've recently upgraded to Parallels Desktop 7 and VMWare Fusion 4. Their performance seems identical (based on WEI and GeekBench), though I have yet to use either to tune.

The 13" MacBook Air seems like it would make an awesome tuning laptop. It's thin, light, has great battery life, and has a high resolution screen.

The easiest way I've found is to use bootcamp to partition the hard drive and install W7 on the partition. I then use REFIT to give me a boot menu on startup to select Mac or Windows.
