Thread: C7Z torque model/management issues :(

Low side fuel is activated by a 3PSI Hobb switch. I confirmed that it works, just not hitting 3PSI ever

Alright just checking. I've seen mentions before of issues like this where the car was out of fuel. Any chance you'd make a hit with the low side kit forced on? I've never actually seen this, just heard it from someone else and was never able to confirm...

Also, do you get this issue on maf?

I'm getting a few DTCs. The weird one is the bypass. I have it plugged in now like the Maggie instructions say and it's still failing.

I'm getting the same issue on MAF, yes.

I know for fact I’d bypass valve isn’t hooked up, will only give you roughly 50% throttle ETC desired and accel pedal can be 99.6...

Usually only allowing about 2-3 psi..
Make sure codes are not disabled and hooked up correctly..

Never looked at tune, but try it in MAF also... if it works in MAF then this is not your problem!
If it shuts you down in MAF then I’m betting Bypass valve is the problem.

I've got the bypass hooked up now and it's still throwing a code that doesn't seem to clear. Any ideas?

Not sure... DTCs should be stock for bypass valve and if so and hooked up should not be throwing a code

I noticed these are permanent codes. Does HP clear those?

Ok. I guess I will go for a virtual drive then 😁

If the bypass was the issue once it is present the issue should stop happening and the perm codes would go away after that drive cycle time.

p16a1 is a throttle position code...

Wonder if it is a cause or a result of this issue.

I can't get the damn permanent codes to clear. Following a procedure I found on the internet:. 30 sec idle, 5 miles over 40km/hr, 30 sec idle, power cycle.

Does anyone have an actual GM procedure?

Permanent codes are a none issue. You can't really clear them until the issue is "gone" and I've never seen a real cycle to get rid of them.

I've got the factory bypass valve hooked up now. Trying to clear that code assuming that's contributing to my 50% max throttle issue. Or not?

I wouldn't expect a permanent code to be a contributing factor, but not impossible I guess.

Could my driver demand or torque model be so far off that it's causing this issue? I haven't played with that much yet.

All I've found for conditions for clearing these DTCs is that they are all "Type A" which should be cleared after a drive cycle.

    Any luck?

Kinda-sorta. I reverted to an old tune and attempted to step through the changes to see if I could identify which one was the one that made the issue start. So far I haven't been able to figure out what was messed up, but attached is my tune that appears to work. Another note is that the MAF is enabled in this tune. Not sure if that's my issue or not, but not sure how to get a true SD tune without failing the MAF.

    This tune makes boost.
